We assess:

Intellectual potential and analytical reasoning.

Motivation and capacity to collaborate.

Creativity, leadership, and community impact.
If you seek an education that values innovation, diversity, and real-world application, you’ll find your place at Minerva.
Starting Your Application
You can start your application through the Common Application or directly on our website — we recommend beginning here for the most seamless experience.
Part 1 collects your biographical and academic information. Applicants under 18 will also provide a parent or guardian’s contact details.
Once submitted, you’ll move on to the Minerva Challenges — a unique, interactive set of online tasks that measure your reasoning, creativity, and communication skills.
Make sure you have a reliable desktop or laptop computer and stable internet connection. Completing your application in a calm, focused environment will help you perform your best.
How You Think
Instead of standardized test scores, Minerva uses online challenges to evaluate how you think.
You do not need to prepare for these challenges. Some include brief practice sessions to help you get comfortable with the format.
Math, Reasoning, Comprehension, & Thinking
Timed challenges in Math, Logical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Divergent Thinking
(~8–20 minutes each)
Written & Verbal Communication Tasks
Written and verbal communication tasks that explore your perspectives and experiences.
(~20 minutes each)

Take them when you’re alert and focused.
Read all instructions carefully.
Work in a quiet, uninterrupted space.
Trust your instincts — we’re evaluating your approach, not perfection.
Be authentic — respond naturally, not rehearsed.
Remember that each challenge measures a different kind of thinking; variety is a strength.
Check your tech setup early — desktop or laptop only (no tablets or phones).
Close other programs to prevent lag during timed portions.
Keep a notepad nearby for jotting down quick ideas.
What You’ve Done
We don’t define “achievement” for you — you get to show us what matters most. You’ll describe your achievements and provide supporting materials such as documents, links, or references.
Personal projects or creative work
Academic competitions or artistic pursuits
Leadership roles, community involvement, or work experience

Include context: what inspired the project and your specific role.
Show outcomes: what impact your work had or what you learned.
Upload clear documentation or links (e.g., portfolios, videos, reports).
Highlight depth and authenticity.
Your Academic Background
Our admissions committee reviews your academic history to evaluate your readiness and ensure you are well prepared to succeed in Minerva’s active learning environment.
Your most recent three years of academic records, which may include transcripts from multiple institutions.
Verification from a school counselor or equivalent official.

We review your academic trajectory, course rigor, and consistency — not just grades.
Submit transcripts showing the last 3 years of coursework, including any dual-enrollment or international programs.
Have your school counselor or registrar send official copies directly.
If you order transcripts through your school, Parchment, Scoir or another service, have them sent to admissions@minerva.edu. A school official is still required to complete the academic form.
Minerva values how you’ve challenged yourself and your readiness for active, discussion-based learning.
